Daniel at 27 months

So it has been a while! What can I say except that we have been really, really busy! Of course that is no excuse. Here is an update on Daniel:

When we took him to his 2 year checkup the doctor said he was just perfect. He said that he was more like a 3 year old but emotionally still a 2 year old. He is about 40 inches tall and 33 pounds. He is of course still well off the charts.

He is a fun little boy. He loves to run, jump, play with balls, ride his tricycle and push just about anything. He can identify all of his letters and numbers and can recite his numbers to 10 but can count 3 - 5 objects. He started putting more words together at about 24 months and he can now do about 6 word sentences. He has a pretty extensive vocabulary and repeats everything you say whether you want him to or not!

Every morning he gets up and watches the birds from the living room. He can identify all of the birds at the feeder and even tell the females from the males for some of the more obvious ones like cardinals. There are about 7 or 8 different types of birds we see regularly.

He is still going to a Mothers Day Out 2 days a week and really seems to like it. It is a small program of about 10 -12 kids. He got his first "report card" and seems to be doing well.
