Daniel at 20 months

Daniel turned 20 months a few days ago and he continues to amaze and exhaust us! This morning he kept point to a part of a toy saying something that sounded like ado ado. I finally remembered that that is what he is now calling yellow. He sometimes changes the way he says a word which makes it really hard to keep up. He can also say/recognize blue but it sounds more like bua. This morning he was able to come pretty close to saying Happy Birthday to Dan. It seems that he adds new words faster than we can keep up. Of course, some sound more like they should than others. One of his best new words is "people". He is still obsessed with on but it has expanded to not only lights on and off to everything on and off. For example, shoes on/off, lids on/off and anything else you can think of. His new obsession is in/out. He wants to be in/out but also put things in/out. He spent quite some time in the floor the other day putting a kettle lid on and off and a toy in and out of the kettle. One of his funny new ideas is "gone". He will put his hands over his face and say "gone". He has a boo boo on the back of his hand and he thinks it is really funny to turn his hand over so that the boo boo is "gone".

He is now going to a Mother's Day out 2 days a week for about 5 hours. It has been really good for him to be around other kids. They say he does really well and even lays down and takes a nap which is something he has never done at home with help. He calls all kids babies so when you say something about school he smiles and says "babies". I think he is enjoying himself.

Here are some pictures that we have taken over the last month.

Here he is at a pool party my group from work had. He loves to swim!

Here he is showing off his blond hair and blue eyes at the pool.

Our church recently had a "barn party" for all of the children. I thought one of us would have to ride with Daniel but he LOVED riding the horse. I was really surprised he wasn't afraid.

We made paper hats for all of the kids and Daniel loved his. He looks right at home even with a horse looking over him.
