Pregnancy Update
I thought I would give everyone an update on the pregnancy. I have to say I feel VERY lucky to have had an uncomplicated pregnancy so far. I am one of the lucky few who has not thrown up once! (knock on wood)
Because of my age, we had 2 ultrasounds at a perinatal clinic at 18 and 20 weeks. Fortunately, everything looked great and the blood work also came back normal. Our last ultrasound was at 35 weeks and everything still looked perfect. The only thing out of the ordinary was at the 20 week ultrasound he was in the 95 percentile for size and at the 35 week one he was in the 89 percentile for size. I am afraid those Morgan genes are going to make this a big baby!
At about 38 weeks, my blood pressure got a little high, around 150/80. It has been 130/70 for most of the pregnancy. The doctor recommend that I stop working since my daily schedule was to leave the house around 7:00am and get home sometime after 7:00pm. They said this was just too much. I had planned on working up until I went into labor, but I am grateful for these couple of weeks off. My blood pressure dropped to 120/70 so I think it was the right move.
I am now at 39 weeks and 6 days. Tomorrow is my official due date! It is so hard to believe that 9 months have passed already. I went to the doctor on Monday and she said that I am now dilated to 3 cm and am 70% effaced. I had been at about 2 cm for a week or so. However, he hasn't really dropped enough yet. We have to go back on Wednesday to get rechecked. Hopefully, he will have moved on down.
They keep asking if I want to be induced, but as long as there are no medical problems with me or the baby, I want to try and wait for labor to kick in naturally. I have been trying to walk so hopefully that will help. I am not sure how long they will give it until they insist on inducing, but I am sure within the next week to 10 days we will have a baby one way or another. Please keep us in your prayers.

You are smart to wait to go into natural labor, if your body allows. But...don't be scared of induction also. The best outcome is a healthy baby & a healthy mommy.
The nursery is adorable! Its such a wonderful process & we're excited for you!
